Invisible enemies drive host evolution
Competition between species over food sources, nest sites and efficient camouflage, are important factors that affect the evolution of organisms. However, over the last decade, biologists have discovered that the effect of diseases and parasites on the ecology and evolution of the host is stronger and more important than previously thought. These effects are studied in the group of ecology and evolution at the ETH Zurich.
